Choices and Trends for Women "from Teens to Grandmothers"

Dance/Theatre/Rock Opera August 19th, 2015 — Sex, Circus and Rock and Roll in New York City’s Grandest Ballroom *Webster Hall, nyc

TONY award winner Cady Huffman (for her role as "Ulla" in THE PRODUCERS) is making her
directorial and chorographic debut next month at Webster Hall! She has signed on to the
fourth iteration of
Life + Death Finale High-Res
a burlesque/circus/theatrical rock opera and is bringing the show to life again in a
whole new way. Full of dancers in heels and pointe shoes, aerialists and skilled circus
performers, alongside Broadway veteran Daphne Rubin-Vega and NY celebrity Michael Musto,
this show is nothing short of a spectacle!

Sex, Circus and Rock and Roll in New York City's Grandest Ballroom, Aug 19th

Kenyon Phillips, known for his inventive blend of orchestral rock, surrealist theater
and interactive cabaret, resurrects his autobiographical rock opera

Following a series of sold-out performances at Joe's Pub and The Box over the last few
months, this one-night-only performance will occur Wednesday, August 19 at 8:00pm in the
grand ballroom of one of North America's most historic entertainment venues.

Stocked with Phillips's catchiest songs and featuring his all-girl orchestral rock band,
The Ladies in Waiting, this night of rock opera-meets-circus-meets-cabaret-meets-burlesque-
meets vaudeville will be directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winning actress CADY HUFFMAN,
who played Phillips's mother in the March and April run of the show at The Box.
Armed with a long resume in Broadway, film and television, Huffman intends to spotlight
the uniqueness and spectacle of Phillips's journey in and out of the relationships that
bring him to a metaphorical death. A Felliniesque merging of sex, circus and rock and roll,
THE LIFE AND DEATH OF KENYON PHILLIPS showcases a candid bravery, a contagious charm and a
titillating confusion of fantasy, reality and nightmare.

"I'm excited to bring Kenyon's vision to life," explains Huffman.
"The plan is to crawl into his brain and extract what even he doesn't know is in there.
Webster Hall gives us the opportunity to blow up his joyful, dirty, burlesque-performance
art and splatter it all over his audience in a unique and massive space. It's thrilling
when something is new and daring and full of dirty goodness!"

"I can't wait to see what Cady does with my life and death," enthuses Phillips.
"She brings over three decades of experience to the production, and I trust her innately.
The fact that she can challenge, inspire and make me laugh all at the same time is crucial,
since that's what I want the show to do for everyone who sees it."

Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 8:00pm. Doors open at 7:00pm.

General Admission tickets are $50 and $30, with balcony access at $65
and preferred seating for $75. Tickets are available online at [2]
for patrons 18+.

Webster Hall is located at 125 East 11th Street, between 3rd and 4th Avenues.
The theater is accessible by Subway: A, C, E and L trains.

Dubbed "the new King of New York" by The Huffington Post
"the love child of Luther Vandross and Steven Tyler" by pop culture commentator Michael
Musto, Kenyon Phillips knows how to put on a show.

In addition to founding and fronting the bands Roma!, Unisex Salon and Thrill A Minute,
Kenyon has written and produced songs for comedienne Amy Poehler and international
drag performer Joey Arias; moonlighted as emcee of notorious vaudeville nightclub The Box;
performed with renowned "punk ballerina" and choreographer Karole Armitage;
appeared as a silhouetted dancer in multiple campaigns for the Apple iPod;
DJ'd for runway shows at MILK Studios; and acted in a number of indie films,

Dubbed "The mountain every Jew would like to climb" by Mel Brooks and
"The Kitty Carlisle-Hart of Kitchen Stadium" by Iron Chef America host Alton Brown,
Cady Huffman is nothing if not versatile. Eschewing college for the college of life,
she hit the pavement running from her hometown of Santa Barbara, CA with solid
professional training in Ballet, Opera and Theater. She immediately started working,
and was soon cast as a teenage drag queen in the Los Angeles company of La Cage Aux Folles.
That show brought her to Broadway, where she was quickly snatched up by Bob Fosse to dance
in his last original musical, Big Deal. Throughout her 30-plus years as a performer, she
has also written, produced and directed for theater, TV and film, and mentored several young
writers, directors and musicians. She is a popular host and auctioneer for many charity
events, and has directed galas for The Drama League and Creative Alternatives of New York.
Huffman won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her role as Ulla in
The Producers, and later revived the character for a season of HBO's comedy
Curb Your Enthusiasm. She received an additional Tony nomination for
The Will Rogers Follies. Other Broadway credits include The Nance, Steel Pier, and
Dame Edna.
