Grants/Fellowship — EtM Choreographer + Composer Residencies in Partnership *DEADLINE July 1, 2015

EtM Choreographer + Composer Residencies in Partnership with the Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning (JCAL)

Applications for the 2015-16 EtM Choreographer + Composer Residencies in Partnership with the Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning are now available. The deadline is Wednesday July 1, 2015.

Exploring the Metropolis (EtM) is sponsoring the first round of our Choreographer + Composer Residencies in partnership with the Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning (JCAL).

This residency will provide four (4) choreographer/composer teams (8 artists total) with use of consistent, suitable rehearsal space for a three-month period (120 hours) starting in October 2015 or January 2016. Each choreographer or composer will receive a stipend of $1,500. The artist teams are free to use the space for whatever purpose they would like. There is no requirement to complete a piece of work during the residency. Each choreographer/composer team is required to perform one free public program in coordination with the Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning.

Choreographers may apply individually without a composer. However, as this is primarily a choreographic residency, a composer MUST apply with a choreographer and cannot apply as an individual.

Choreographer applicants must be at least 18 years old. Applicants must be resident of New York City as of the application deadline, Wednesday July 1, 2015 OR have a significant, documented track record of artistic activity in Queens. Queens residents will be given preference for this residency. Previous EtM Con Edison Composers-in-Residence are eligible to apply for this program.
