Cyndi Lauper is excited to announce the 4th annual Cyndi Lauper & Friends: Home for the Holidays benefit concert on Saturday, December 6 at New York City’s historic Beacon Theatre in support of the True Colors Fund. The True Colors Fund works to raise awareness about, and help bring an end to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth homelessness.

For the past three years, this concert has played to sold out audiences of over 2,800 each year and welcomed performers like P!nk, Sarah McLachlan, Josh Groban, Jason Mraz, Nelly Furtado, Rosie O’Donnell, Adam Lambert, Norah Jones, Whoopi Goldberg, Susan Sarandon, Lou Reed, Alan Cumming, Wanda Sykes, and many more. Home for the Holidays has quickly become the signature event for Cyndi’s True Colors Fund and provides a significant source of funding towards fulfilling the organization’s mission.

“When I first learned that up to 40 percent of all homeless youth in this country identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender I was shocked and saddened,” remarked Lauper, co-founder of the True Colors Fund. “For far too long homeless youth have not received the attention, resources and funding necessary to bring an end to this epidemic. My hope is that through this inspiring evening of music and comedy we can raise awareness and much needed funds to help these young people.”

A growing body of research shows that up to 40% of the 1.6 million youth who are homeless each year identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender. The most commonly cited reason for these young people leaving their homes is family rejection. The True Colors Fund is hard at work to bring an end to this epidemic by educating and engaging the public, advocating within government and media, collaborating with young people, facilitating leading research, and aiding service providers in building their capacity and creating an inclusive environment with their agencies. Learn more about the True Colors Fund and how you can get involved at www.truecolorsfund.org.

Please join us this year for what will no doubt be another incredible Home for the Holidays.
