Choices and Trends for Women "from Teens to Grandmothers"

Poster Art

We have real problems with the production history of Black Sails –

Although it is filmed in South Africa, we have it on information and belief that, certainly for the first season, the principal production crew does not include people of color. We find that absolutely deplorable in this day and age and wish to principally call out Michael Bay to account for this egregious exploitation. We don’t find that many people of color in front of the camera either.

We do note that women feature prominently in the cast. We doubt that the record for women as principal crew heads and behind the camera is one to applaud. Exploitation and post-apartheid segregation often go hand in hand.

Nevertheless we love the art for the 2nd Season

SO WE WANT TO SUPPORT ANY VENUE THAT SHOWS IT. WE LIKE CARMEL’S (CIFF) POSTER
