SILENCED –

Silenced  (World Premiere Tribeca Film Festival, SVA Cinema Chelsea April 20, 2014), a factual,  thought-provoking documentary, reveals that, under the Obama administration, there have been 8 individuals charged under the antiquated Espionage Act of 1917, as now whistleblowing is equivalent to spying.

Executive producer is activist Susan Sarandon, collaborating with James Spione, director/producer (Incident in New Baghdad). Silenced  investigates three whistleblowers who questioned the U S government policies post 9/11. Jessely Radack (former Justice Department lawyer) challenged the Bush administration’s treatment of American-born Taliban fighter John Walker Lindh and is  now counsel to Edward Snowden.   John Kiriakou, ex-CIA officer, revealed that waterboarding was sanctioned as a government policy. He is  now serving 30 months in jail. Thomas Drake, former senior official NSA, exposed the surveillance programs on American citizens.

They all pay a price personally and financially for speaking up in protest to government tactics and post 9/11 policies.
